Voyager One Monster Zero (Loveless Records) By: Alex Steininger
Tipping their hats to My Bloody Valentine, Seattle's Voyager One channels the energy and passion of the aforementioned band and veers off into their own direction, creating a sonic, spacious psychedelic record. From the swirling to the sublime, the songs float around in your head, sending a sense of euphoria through your body while the drawn out vocals set the mood, the layers of instrumentation, especially guitars, both relaxed and charged. The subdued sounds eclipse your mind as you romanticize about the tones and textures coming out of your stereo. I'll give it a B+.
