Electric Six
Fire (Beggars Banquet)

By: Alex Steininger

Detroit's sextet the Electric Six have to be one of the most original hard rock bands out there today, fusing disco, garage, punk, hard rock, and even some new wave, into a head-banging, danceable sound that is as much fire as it is joke. Hitting you with decent lyrics, Electric Six are the well-rounded package, a band that gets the joke, and doesn't mind playing one on their audience, but also likes to be serious, all while having fun throughout every move they make. And, whether they're crushing you with heavy beats and razor sharp guitars. Or, making you shake your ass while you sweat off a few extra pounds without even knowing it, the Electric Six don't give up, even when you cry for them to let up so you can get some rest. With songs like "Gay Bar", "Danger! High Voltage", "Nuclear War (on the Dance Floor)", and "Naked Pictures (of Your Mother)", you know this band is capable of anything. I'll give this an A-.
