The Aluminum Group Morehappyness (Wishing Tree Records) By: Alex Steininger
Morehappyness, the follow-up to 2001's Happyness, a supposed part-two to The Aluminum Group trilogy, this Chicago-based outfit sounds as if they're from Britain, not the U.S., putting an ethereal spin on Brit-pop. The result is a collection of airy pop melodies and bouncy beats, the kind of pop record you would put on when the party is dying down and you want to settle into the night yourself. Ushering your guests outside your place, and making your way to your bed, the songs wind you down as it re-caps your night, from the upbeat to the downright melancholic. It's a nice pop offering and one that sticks with you. I'll give it a B.
