Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains
The Big Eyeball in the Sky (Prawn Song)

By: Mike SOS

What kind of musical silliness could the Primus rhythm section's Les Claypool and Brain, P-Funk keyboard master Bernie Worrell, and the ever-mysterious six-stringer Buckethead make together? The answer is located on the 11-track expedition The Big Eyeball in the Sky, a virtual trip to the funkiest carnival you've ever visited. The guitar solo alone in Buckethead's eponymous leadoff track is more than enough reason to pick this up, but it's the gestation of Claypool's P-Funk fantasy come to fruition on tracks like the skanky swagger of "Scott Taylor" that makes this mighty funk force so brilliant.
