Inner Wish Silent Faces (SPV) By: Jeb Branin
With so many Euro-thrash bands sounding like fifth rate HELLOWEEN wannabes, it is a real pleasure to find one that has more to offer. In the case of INNER WISH, far more to offer. Hailing from Greece, INNER WISH certainly gives a nod or two to the might HELLOWEEN but they also tap into a much broader spectrum of power metal. While not being redundant of derivative in any way, INNER WISH brings to mind the finest of late 80s power metal bands like FIFTH ANGEL or Q5. They also wield superior song writing skills akin to many of the late 90s Century Media roster. Razor sharp riffs, soaring vocals, complimentary keyboards, and precision rhythms are the bedrock of the INNER WISH sound. This is an album that all fans of classic power metal will drool over. I know I had to wear a bid while typing this review.
