Dusty 45s Devil Takes His Turn (self-released) By: Alex Steininger
A roots record with everything from south of the border influences ("Play The Game"), Tex-Mex rock ("Vino"), and old-time country ("A Reason To Stay"), Dusty 45s play true, blue-collar, traditional sounds - without the pretentious of being a "retro" act. Instead, they take the influences and styles of yesteryear to heart and deliver a new sound, uniquely their own, but also clearly influenced from the genres for which they borrow. And borrow it is because they do give back, adding their own spin to each style they touch - freshening and breathing more life into it in the process. I'll give it a B+.
