Love In Reverse
I was Here (Reprise Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Love in Reverse are here with their new full-length album "I Was Here," the follow up to their EP "I Was Dog." The album is a melting pot of many different influences. From Techno and Dance influences, to regular rock and roll, to "Alternative," and pop music. In this album, you will find them combining all sorts of music. I can even feel some industrial and heavy metal influences on the album.

Eleven different songs. Many different influences. When these two collide you never know what you are going to get! Each track is very different than the last track. You never get a track that sounds like the last, or the next. That is one good thing about the album. There are no repetitive spots. "Super Car" is a regular pop influenced song, yet the following track "Blueprint for a Possible Song" is a total dance/techno track. Track three, "Sometimes you're a woman," brings you a well crafted song with many hooks that make listen to not only the flow of the song, but also the lyrics. "Another Story" brings you a very mellow track that is very relaxing song. Even when the song picks up pace, it is still slow and mellow enough to relax to.

Overall this album was done very well. It has it's flaws. Not knowing what to expect from track to track can be an advantage, but it can also be a disadvantage. I would give this album a B overall. Check it out if you want some diversity in your music. You won't be disappointed.
