The No Fun EP (Thick Records)

By: Alex Steininger

They're back! Or are they? Did they ever really go away? No! But, hey, free of Palm Pictures and on the Chicago-based indie Thick Records, the band that made their name off of being a duo, Local H, come out swinging on their latest, The No Fun EP, a hard-hitting, dynamic rock record filled with ripping guitars and pounding drums. Stripped down to the core essentials, this rock 'n' roll threat doesn't waste any time, capitalizing on their ability to craft radio-friendly hits without compromising their hard-hitting rock 'n' roll appetite. And all of this is well-documented here on The No Fun EP, as drummer Brian St. Clair (previously of TripleFastAction) and front man/songwriter Scott Lucas relentlessly show you how rock should be done. I'll give it a B+.
