 Jen Chapin's biggest asset is her soulful voice, which adds depth and richness to her songs. The music itself isn't anything to scoff at, either. Propelled by Chapin's voice, and her ability to craft warm, tender melodies, Linger sets sail and succeeds, turning pop-folk into a soulful affair that is both beautiful and romantic. Whatever she's singing about, she can turn even the sad, or the mundane, into something worthwhile. Linger has the goods and Chapin has more than proven herself an accessible singer-songwriter with a rising star. I'll give this a B+.
