The New Electric
The New Electric (The Perpetual Motion Machine)

By: Mike SOS

Instrumental gold, indeed. The New Electric's jazz background, coupled with the band's love for heavier music a la Led Zeppelin and Fugazi, makes this music schooled quartet's eponymous release one of the most engaging four-song releases without vocals heard to date. Encompassing the melody of classic rock 'n' roll with the mind blowing virtuosity of guys that have spent years in their bedrooms practicing, songs like the elegant and enchanting "Don't Send Me Home" and the manic "Circus Metal" will have you pumping your fists in a righteous rock rage while shaking your head in wonderment as to how these guys can make something sound so complex and rock so damn hard.
