Fishsticks
Disko (Theologian Records)

By: Jeb Branin

Man I hate it when great bands call it quits, but it tempers my disappointment a bit if they are cool enough to release a discography collection before they ride off into the sunset. Such is the case with FISHSTICKS. I have followed them for a few years and have loved everything they've done. Their back to basics garage thrash has all the classic vibes of the first generation of hardcore bands and appeals to me on several levels. This CD collects all their releases (at least everything I know about) on one disc, which is cool since aside from a few comp tracks their music hasn't been available on CD before. Their hardcore is so fast and furious that the CD almost seems in a race with itself to reach its conclusion. This would be a bad thing except the music is so great that I can't wait to start the CD over as soon as it ends. "Disko" is the reason "continuous play" on your CD player was invented.
