 This three song taster will leave a bitter enough taste in your mouth until the full length arrives next year. The sound presents an inward soulfulness and outward aggression like a hybrid of Amorphis, The Nephilim, and Strapping Young Lad, all the while crossing immeasurable boundaries in the process. Eyes Of Fire grew out of the ashes of the revered underground Death/Doom outfit, Mindrot, later to become the more artistically inclined, Shiva, which planted the seeds for transfixing what is now, Eyes Of Fire. The music is destructive, dramatic, gothic and powerful, on an amplified level as well as depth chart. "Disintegrate" opens with a Thrash-like attack and scathing vocals similar to SYL's Townsend, soon giving way to the dark tranquility of "Hopeless," and slower brood of "Anyone," with its crashing chorus that's akin to a torturous cry for help while falling-- The overall result is a combination of angst and atmosphere that's built on the slow grind of Mindrot, and broken into a multi-directional rush of everything from Doom Metal, Dark Wave, and Goth, secured by an elementally woven ambience that's progressively revealing and personal. Look for big things when Eyes Of Fire's full length, "Ashes To Embers" arrives next January.
