Inara George All Rise (Everloving Records) By: Alex Steininger
Dazzling melodies alongside hazy vocals, the sparse, though cloudy indie-pop of Inara George owes a lot to folk as well on All Rise, a bouncy-at-times, sullen-at-others collection of sincere acoustic numbers that can at once be fragile, but isn't in danger of breaking any time soon. The eleven songs here are all full band pieces, but still possess the intimacy and directness of just a woman and a guitar. All Rise is a powerful record that is forty-two minutes of light, delicate pop music unlike any other. I'll give it a B+.
