The Sound of Rails Prelude of Hypnotics (Caufield Records) By: Alex Steininger
The songs are there - almost. The indie rock The Sound of Rails serves up is poppy with the occasional beat or two to nudge you awake. However, the songs are so loose and non-structured that as soon as they go anywhere, they lose you. If the band could pull it together, offer up a better recording, and focus their creativity, they may be able to stun their audience. Though, as it stands, the songs are too unpolished and too unfocused to really hit home. I'll give it a C-.
