Mastretta Mastretta (Minty Fresh) By: Alex Steininger
![](/images/sep.gif)
A collection of material released from 1998-2000 on various EPS, soundtracks, and full-lengths, Mastretta's self-titled full-length on Minty Fresh is an intoxicating blend of lounge, jazz, film soundtrack, and world music, mixed together with a pop band. Primarily instrumentals, Mastretta is fresh and lively, an energetic, almost exhausting band that you can dance and party with for a few tracks, sit down and enjoy your rest the next few tracks, and then experience something fairly different only a few minutes later. It defines experimental without being 'experimental'. I'll give it a B+.
