 Recalling equal parts Devo and CBGB's, New York's The Negatones'Snacktronica, a five-song, ten minute EP, comes as quickly as it goes, delivering quirky pop interaction alongside fierce, noisy rock. From the fiery opener of "And So My Troubles Began", a sweaty, beer-stained rocker that wouldn't have been out of place at CBGB's circa the late 70s. Through the art-pop of "Conflict Error (part II of the Information Processing Trilogy", and the noise-punk of "Everything Oscillates", here is a band that can carry a party, have a good time, and still make interesting music that makes you think - and rock out. I'll give it a B-.
