Stand and Fight Together We Win (Bridge Nine) By: Mike SOS
For all intensive purposes, straight edge hardcore isn't about the music as much as it's all about the movement, while the music provides the necessary release to the followers. Such is the case on Stand and Fight's 14-track belligerent ode to clean living, as cymbals crash and guitars chug, the message of self-empowerment through making moral judgments sans the use of illicit substances rings loud and clear. Courtesy of Wrench, former throat of seminal hardcore troupe Ten Yard Fight, like a rabid drill sergeant, songs like "Stand Tall" and "Conscious Effort" are ingrained in your head. On the whole, the straight edge movement comprises not only a sizable amount of the hardcore scene, but also remains true to its old school musical values, and Stand and Fight do commendable jobs on both fronts.
