Low Things We Lost In The Fire (Kranky) By: Alex Steininger
Beautifully crafted melancholy pop. Low's latest, Things We Lost In The Fire, is a glorious indie pop record. Leaning towards the sleepy spectrum of the genre, it completely relaxes you with subtle, unpretentious instrumentation. All while the glazed, dreamy vocals ascend beyond the norm, utilizing whispers, silence, and distant to its advantage, creating a unique, non-forceful approach that plants visions of sunshine and hope in your head as the clarity and sincerity that shines in the vocals comes through loud and clear. This is soft and delicate, as harmonious and peaceful as it comes. I'll give it an A+.
