Destruction The Anti-Christ (Nuclear Blast) By: Jeb Branin
In spite of the "so generic it is laughable" title of this album DESTRUCTION have once again created a thrash metal masterpiece that will be hailed as a classic even upon initial release. "The Anti-Christ" is their second release since re-forming and they prove once and for all that they have only gotten faster, harder and more intense since their 80s heyday. DESTRUCTION seem determined to prove that they can play classic thrash metal and still be heavier and more "brutal" than 99% of the death and black metal bands on the planet - bands who were almost all influenced by the "original" DESTRUCTION. In their efforts to take thrash metal to next level of extremity they have also accomplished something else... They have released what may be the best metal album of 2001. Buy it, put it on, crank it up and prepare to be steamrolled.
