Ruston Mire Driving Straight Up In the Siam (Roam Records) By: Alex Steininger
Ruston Mire, the outlet for front man Brian Naubert and his songs, is a four-piece, Seattle-based, indie-rock band influenced by psychedelic rock and indie-shoegazing. The result is Driving Straight Up In the Siam, a space-rock record not afraid to experiment, but content with the norm. And even though they follow already developed paths, their debut is still a strong effort, a tantalizing, subliminally powerful record that knows how to captivate the listener with walls of psychedelic guitars, airy moments, or full on rock jaunts. I'll give it a B-.
