 The term avant-garde gets totally maligned in the world of music, however the boys who comprise Lickgoldensky truly deserve the description. Based on the outfit's latest album, within the first two tracks, you get moody acoustic guitars, trippy samples, crushing guitars, and a barrage of pure aggression. Even though there's no track listings here, and the band is literally all over the place, effortlessly jumping from genre to genre, contorting and twisting your ears in ways that have never been done before. Way ahead of its time, and distinctively creative, Lickgoldensky takes what bands like Neurosis, Isis, and Mr. Bungle do a step further.
