Sparta Austere (Dreamworks Records) By: Alex Steininger

Fans of At The Drive-In rejoice, former members resurface with Sparta, a band not unlike At The Drive-In, continuing where the band left off and kicking some major ass in the process. This three-song EP is an excellent representation of what Sparta can do, creating noisy, guitar-drenched bursts of fury amongst the hidden melodies and pop undertones that show their face now and then. This is rock music. I'll give it an A-.
